Cultural Centre "Kulturfabrik"

Where? 116, Rue de Luxembourg, L-4221 Esch-sur-Alzette

A place where talent can grow!

Imagine a temple dedicated to culture. Not a museum, not an Italian theatre, not a castle or an opera house, but an old slaughterhouse. Imagine a place full of artists, bursting with new creations, ideas, desires, where you can meet people who aren’t afraid to follow their dreams, even the craziest ones. Such a place actually exists—it’s called the “Kulturfabrik”.

This alternative cultural centre allows its artists in residence to develop and perfect their transcultural artistic creations and is open to all forms of art. The Kulturfabrik team offers an annual programme of more than 200 events! Among them is the popular “Flamencofestival Esch” and other events such as “Out of the Crowd” and the “Bang your Head” festivals.

Perhaps you are already among the tens of thousands of people who visit the Kulturfabrik every year. And if not, you should be!

Escher Theater
Standing right on one corner of Resistance Square (also known as Brillplaz) in the heart of Esch, the Escher Theater is both a receiving and producing organisation. Each season, the theatre offers around 50 performances of theatre, dance and music – together with creative work which span all these disciplines. Here you can see productions from European theatres as well as from Luxembourg, but also work co-created with the local community. As Luxembourg stands at the crossroads of other countries, the venue asserts its cross-border and multicultural vocation through multilingual programming, primarily in French and German. Since 2018, plays for young audiences have been one of the main focuses of its programme.
