Are you ready to Re:Mix with the Europan Capital of Culture?

In 2022, together with 11 Pro-Sud municipalities, and 8 municipalities in France, in the Communauté de Communes Pays Haut Val d’Alzette (CCPHVA), Esch-Alzette, Luxembourg’s second largest city, will be European Capital of Culture. Each year this label is awarded to a different city or area within the European Union.

Esch2022 will share this title with Kaunas, the second largest city in Lithuania and Novi Sad, the second largest city in Serbia, which will be partner cities for Esch2022.

All throughout the year, the Minett Trail will play host to many different cultural events as part of the festivities of Esch2022

Accompanying the Minett Trail is a series of mostly multidisciplinary projects that let participants discover the beauty of the sites they cross, seen through the prism of varied artistic propositions: sound paths, storytelling walks, installations, shows, concerts and many other formats. Several of these exciting projects are also taking place on the territory of the CCPHVA.

The exhibition Walk on the Minett Trail documents the architectural competition that led to the construction of the lodges. The sound trails on offer include Walking, listening and recomposing everyday sounds of Esch, which invites residents and visitors to (re)discover the sound environment of the city, and Wou d’Uelzecht…, which charts the well-known river along its often hidden course. Explore the region thanks to In the field and get carried away at night by the incredible sound of the machines in NIGHTSONGS! - and so much more
