The perfect balancing act between luxury and "au naturel": in the "Kabaischen" of the Minett Trail in Bergem, one of eleven hiking huts along the regional hiking trail, the focus is on the environment and sustainability.
These hikers' huts in Bergem consist of prefab wood elements that can be assembled in no time at all and still offer maximum comfort. Particular attention was paid to the fact that the solid wood of the components comes from the region. In addition, no complex foundations had to be poured for their installation, and the wooden huts can stand on small pillars and thus leave no larger footprint than necessary.
In order to further underline this close connection to nature, the location of these hikers' huts was also chosen with particular care: They are in the immediate vicinity of the "Um Nëssert" cultural center in Bergem and right next to an open grove that is grazed by sheep, so that a view of nature can be guaranteed. Together with the distinctive, genuine smell of the wood, the hearts of all nature lovers beat faster.
The individual wooden huts, each measuring 4x4, 5x5 or 6x6 meters, serve mostly as bedrooms, but there is also a hut with a sauna. The huts can also be set up and converted into dormitory rooms, for example to accommodate school classes.
