Rencontre d'artistes avec Martine Pinnel et Sandra Lieners
Open Circle
OPEN CIRCLE is the new project of CAL - Cercle artistique de Luxembourg in the framework of the European Capital of Culture Esch2022. The desire to present reflections on art in general and more specifically on the process of art practice, is the aim of the project. Throughout the project, this initiative will attract an interested public to the local area, create dialogue between artists and visitors, and give rise to collaborations between different cultural players in the area.
Three young artists have been invited to choose an artist member of the CAL with whom they will start an innovative collaboration on a creative, plastic and artistic project and which will be presented in an exhibition in the 'Schlassgoart' gallery from the beginning of May to the end of June 2022.
The artist duos are Martine Pinnel and Sandra Lieners; Alain Welter and Jean-Marie Biwer; Floriane Soltysiak and Tom Flick. They are accompanied in their research and work by the curator Anne Reding.
The exhibition will bring together the works of the younger generation of artists in unification with those of renowned artists of different ages and backgrounds. This platform will present the opportunity to offer a cultural programme within the framework of the exhibition, which will include other forms of artistic expression such as artists' meetings, guided tours and creative workshops.
Marie-Pierre Trauden-Thill, artist and member of the Cercle and its board, is the initiator and general coordinator of the project.
The EVBK - European Association of Artists from the Eifel and the Ardennes is a European project partner. The association supported CAL in the search for and selection of young artists. Floriane Soltysiak is the artist who was chosen on the basis of the association's proposals.
The CAL is supported in its project by the CCPHVA - Communauté de Communes Pays Haut Val d'Alzette in the framework of public inclusion.
The city of Esch-Alzette and Esch2022 are also project partners.
